The Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) of Merced County is a multidisciplinary
community based collaboration dedicated to timely, comprehensive attention
to the medical, emotional and legal needs of sexual assault survivors
and their families and to the forensic needs of the criminal justice
system.
SART is a specially trained team, which includes Sexual Assault Response
Advocates, Law Enforcement Officers, Sexual Assault Examiners (SANE),
and the District Attorney's Office. SART provides advocacy and accompaniment
to medical facilities, law enforcement offices, attorney interviews
and other locations. SART also provides transportation and complete
support throughout the judicial process and the survivor's recovery.
Referrals to counseling and other agencies are also provided.
